Semagri: high-yield starch varieties
Semagri is a seed potato supplier of potato varieties in regions where potatoes are grown for the starch, flake and granule industries.
At a large number of trial and demonstration fields in these regions, our varieties and new lines are compared with existing varieties. Through open collaboration with Dutch breeders and international breeding companies, we continuously develop new varieties with high yields and the right resistances to various diseases and pests. These resistances are identified and verified by certified laboratories. In addition to components such as starch and protein, the storability of each variety is a key focus. We also work closely with industrial processors to evaluate each variety’s suitability for processing into flakes and granules.
